Day 10 – 17 Jan 2015 (5.6 miles – 75.3 miles)

It was a great day to hike!  Clear skies, great views, great company!

Bling and I had an awesome day.  We met at Dick’s creek and moved a car to Charlies Creek Rd.  The Rav4 couldn’t make it all the way to Blue Ridge Gap, so we parked it about 1/2 way up the road.

Once back at Dick’s Creek Gap we started walking.  There were great views, great weather, and great times!  This was an easy walk across the mountain.  We stopped for lunch at Plumorchard Shelter (nice 3 lever shelter).  We used the Wind Boiler to make hot water to drink coffee.  We ate my homemade beef jerky, and dehydrated apples.  They were both YUMMY!

We meet up with BSA Troop 197 from Atlanta, and Dancing Bear was at the shelter when we stopped for lunch.
