Trail work

Today was a fun day doing Trail Maintenance.  I met up with the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club to help haul wood chips from Unicoi Gap to the privy at Blue Mountain Shelter.  Each bag of wood chips was 20 lbs.  Everyone carried a bag up the mountain.

Round trip from Unicoi Gap to the shelter and back was 4.66 miles and took me 2:13 gaining 1000′ in elevation to the shelter 🙂

It was a pleasant day hovering around freezing, but the sun and hiking kept me warm.
